- Objectives of the curricular unit and competences
To provide students with advanced knowledge in the field of Maintenance Engineering by conducting Short Courses / Seminars to be taught by persons of recognized merit in each area.
The intention is to put students in touch with advanced technologies that have been incorporated in the area of Maintenance Engineering at national and international levels.
- Syllabus
Suppression of vibrations using sensors and actuators.
Health monitoring of structures and mechanical systems.
Evaluation of structural damage.
Non-destructive testing.
Intelligent fault diagnosis.
Acquisition of signals in real time.
Integration of information systems to support the management of maintenance.
Emerging methodologies in the management of maintenance.
Other emerging topics in the field of Maintenance Engineering.
- Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with curricular unit’s objectives
The course syllabus includes topics that are related with emerging technologies and methodologies in the field of Maintenance Engineering, aiming to provide students with contact with the more advanced knowledge that is used in this field
- Teaching methodologies (including evaluation)
The teaching methodology to be adopted will take two forms: exposure in the classroom, and study visits.
The assessment will be done through the preparation of reports and projects on the topics covered. The final rating will be the average of the grades obtained in each work, but not less than 10 points (range 0 to 20) in any of them.
- Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit’s objective
Since it is intended to provide students with a contact with the methodologies and technologies that are being incorporated within the activities related to Maintenance Engineering, nothing better to achieve this goal than to promote the realization of Short Courses / Workshops taught by experts with recognized merit in the matters at issue and promote the implementation of study visits to places where these methodologies and technologies are being used.
