Intended learning outcomes

  • Provide knowledge concerning the resonance concept, as well as the properties of the resonant circuits and their uses.
  • Provide knowledge and experience in the analysis of balanced three-phase systems, as well as the ability for the analysis of conditions in which eventual defects/fails lead to unbalanced loads.
  • Provide knowledge concerning the transient analysis in electrical circuits. For this purpose, circuit analysis is performed in both the time and the frequency domain (Laplace).
  • Provide knowledge concerning the analysis of linear circuits when subjected to non-sinusoidal periodic inputs, as well as the behaviour and consequences of the connection of non-linear loads.
  • Provide ability to recognize situations, faults, and problems and the capacity to present solutions for its rectification or neutralization.
