Intended learning outcomes

Students who complete this course successfully will be able to:

  1. Understand and configure to solve the problem of the cycles between switches (switch) through the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and others (RSTP and MSTP) [IEEE 802.1Q-2014].
  2. Build and plan high-speed local area networks of medium size with redundant structure and solve the problem of fragmentation of traffic on local networks using virtual networks (VLAN).
  3. Plan of IP traffic routing structures on local networks and the Internet.
  4. Understand the internal routing protocols RIP, OSPF and BGP external and plan and configure the use of protocols within an autonomous system.
  5. Set advanced routing policies and interconnection of different internal and external routing protocols, to be able to analyze and correct configuration errors in network equipment.
  6. Policy Based Routing (PBR) as a way to influence the route of an IP packet based in the source address.
