The objectives of this course are:

1. Engage with problems from various technical and scientific fields and promote discussion around their mathematical modelling. Students should develop strong skills in mathematical modelling and problem-solving, as well as communication skills, including clear and precise written and oral expression, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
2. Elaboration of a broad roadmap for the Master's Final Assignment (MFA), where the subject to be studied is put in context, as well as its respective relevance and motivation, where the goals (general and specific) are clearly stated and the reference bibliography listed.
