The Polytechnic of Lisbon participated in the Salão do Estudante 2025, the largest international education fair in Latin America, which took place from April 5 to 16, 2025 in six cities in Brazil. The presence of the IPL was part of the mission organized by the Coordinating Council of Higher Polytechnic Institutes (CCISP), with the seal “Portugal Polytechnic Universities”, with the aim of promoting the training offer of Portuguese polytechnic institutions among Brazilian students.

The Salon passed through São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro (Copacabana and Barra da Tijuca), Brasília, Salvador, Recife and Maceió, allowing direct contact with hundreds of young people interested in studying in Portugal.

The Polytechnic of Lisbon was present with an information stand, where it presented its courses, application conditions, mobility programs and support for international students. The Lisbon Polytechnic delegation included the vice-president of the Lisbon Polytechnic, Maria Carlos Annes; the IPL Communications Manager, Vanessa Glória, the ISEL External Relations Service Manager, Susana Teque, the ESCS Communications Manager, Marcos Melo and the senior technician of the ISCAL Communications Office, Filipe Inteiro.

In addition to participating in the fair, the mission included institutional visits and networking moments with Brazilian educational institutions. In São Paulo, IPL representatives participated in an action with students from Centro Paula Souza and were present at the official reception promoted by the Consulate General of Portugal, with interventions from the Directorate General of Higher Education and the Erasmus+ National Agency. In Rio de Janeiro, the delegation participated in a session with the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and REARI-RJ – International Advisory Network of Universities of Rio de Janeiro.

The presence of the Polytechnic of Lisbon in Brazil is part of its internationalization strategy and reinforces its commitment to cooperation with higher education institutions and networks in Portuguese-speaking countries, promoting access to Portuguese higher education for students from different regions.
