Filipa Soares de Almeida has a degree in Mathematics, a MsC in Mathematics (specialization in Algebra) and a PhD in Mathematics (specialization in Algebra, Logic and Foundations of Mathematics) with the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

Teaches at ISEL since 2003, usually courses from the Algebra and the Mathematical and Numerical Analysis sections. Took part in creating  ISEL's degree in Mathematics and belongs to its coordinating commission since the begginnig, in 2016. As off january 2021, is the advisor of the school's board for Communication.

The main area of research is Semigroup Theory, being a member of CEMAT.
