1. The main objective is to develop in students the ability to interpret and analyze any problem in a logical and simple way and ensure knowledge to use the fundamental principles of mechanics in its resolution;
2. Students must understand that the resistance of structural elements depends on the geometric properties of their cross sections;
3. Students should be able to work with forces:
   • to solve problems of equilibrium in isostatic structures;
   • to determine interior and exterior forces;
   • to draw diagrams and to define the laws of variation of the efforts in elementary linear parts of
   • isostatic structures;
   • to calculate efforts on trusses;
   • to calculate efforts in cables.
