Intended learning outcomes
To acquire knowledge of materials and materials science at various scales from atomic to macroscopic, relating phenomena and properties to macroscopic scale with the atomic structure of materials and chemical bonding. Acknowledging the different classes of materials, their intrinsic properties, ways to optimize them and what applications are best suited to each class of materials, taking into account the limitations of the various types of materials. Know the degradability of materials and their recyclability. Have contact with decision factors in the selection of materials, not only on the basis of properties, but also in the cost or way of processing.
