Together with Project 1, this unit aims to provide the students with a global overview of all the phases and activities comprising the project of a new unit from the chemical/biological industry, as well as the knowledge about the basic methodologies necessary for each project development phase since its conception, market study, selection of process technology, equipment design, engineering project and economic evaluation. Also it aims to provide the students the necessary skills to make part of a project design team, as well as to understand the role of a chemical/biological engineer participating in each of the phases of project development, mainly at level of basic engineering level and, partially, at the detail engineering level, based on the process technology previously selected.
