Intended learning outcomes

In this CU students should consolidate their knowledge of statistics and apply them in chemical analysis. Students should be able to:

  1. To statistically analyze series of experimental data obtained in laboratorial, factory or field analytical processes.
  2. Eliminate, through statistical tests, aberrant data and compare data sets.
  3. To propagate errors associated with analytical data and to perform regressions and correlations accompanied by the propagation of errors.
  4. Calculate uncertainties associated with analytical procedures following internationally accepted methods.
  5. Apply to complex data sets the analysis of variance for comparison of the means.
  6. Endowed with the statistical tools described, students should, at the end of the CU, be able to carry out the validation and reporting of analytical methods based on international reference procedures.
