Intended learning outcomes

The curricular unit (CU) of Water Quality and Water Treatment aims to provide students with knowledge concerning water quality, urban water cycle and the unit’s operations and processes applied in the water treatment for domestic and industrial consumption. In this CU the theoretical and practical concepts of the design, exploration and maintenance of water treatment plants (WTP), the treatment / recovery and final disposal of by‐products (screenings and sludge) and water safety plans are presented.

After attending the CU, students should be able to substantiate and understand WTP design, exploration and maintenance studies, be able to process the application of unit’s operations and processes in water treatment, select and manage by‐product treatments and disposal of WTP.
