Intended learning outcomes

Students will learn the essential mathematic concepts and ideas in discrete mathematics, which are required for rigorous studies in most areas in computer science. After completing this course a student will:

  1. Be able to understand fundamental mathematical concepts of logic, set and number theory.

  2. Understand the counting techniques for subsets, sequences, functions and partitions

  3. Understand and be able to use graph theory and trees.

  4. Develop the ability to treat and represent discrete data and its relations through abstract structures

  5. Be able to analyse problems using the methodologies of mathematics, abstract thinking, logical inference from the premises, and rigorous and concise solutions.
