Intended learning outcomes

As a result of the course, students should:

  1. Understand the necessary commitment triangle between energy / environment / economic development.
  2. Discuss the concept of useful energy, forms of energy, units and evolution of available energy sources, understanding the importance of energy diversification.
  3. Evaluate energy transformations and their efficiency, at home and industrial level, understanding electricity as an energy carrier.
  4. Understand the combustion phenomenon, its physical characteristics and chemical transformations, as well as the systems of monitoring and diagnosis of flames.
  5. Understand the design of processes created to recover useful work from the release of thermal energy, controlling the efficiency and associated emissions of pollutants.
