Intended learning outcomes

The students must develop competences in the comprehension/utilization of industrial chemical utilities, identifying them and, scaling some equipments to be used for those purposes. The students must have, also:

  1. Understand the importance of using compressed air at industry, scaling compressors;
  2. Understand the importance of industrial fans utilization, identify atmospheric pollutants and quantify the height of a industrial chimney;
  3. Understand the importance of water treatment in boilers and, realize the utilization of water as utility in cooling/heating processes;
  4. Understand the importance of energetic optimization in industry, using the entalphic potencial of vapour, water, exhaust gases of boilers/furnaces streams;
  5. Know how to implement and schedule maintenance plans of industrial equipments;
  6. Understand/apply the legal standards related to both industrial hygiene and safety, as well, in the prevention of serious industrial accidents.
