Intended learning outcomes

The course Transport Phenomena 1 applies the fundamental concepts of fluid dynamics , identification and quantification of heat transfer mechanisms (conduction, convection and radiation). The main objective of the course is to learn fundamental concepts of transport of quantity of movement and heat, in its application in solving varied problems in different areas of engineering. Application to practical problems of dimensioning of fluid transport systems and heat exchangers.

Knowledge is fundamental to the course of chemical engineering throughout the project, where students are asked to scale the energy balances involving the various mechanisms of heat transfer.

In the laboratory, experimental work was carried out to apply and validate the knowledge acquired in the theoretical classes.
