Intended learning outcomes
  • Provide the necessary skills for reading and interpreting topographic maps;

  • Provide students with specialized training in Urban Management, within the local administration, an interdisciplinary perspective. Skills that enable a historical understanding of urbanism and cities, as well as the context factors that have changed the way and the transformation of urban space and the increasing global urbanization should be given. Ability to reflect these movements in the Portuguese reality and the main "urban pathologies" that we are faced with. Develop critical thinking about the importance of the instruments of spatial planning, sectoral legislation affecting the licensing of building awareness and a new emerging paradigms linked to an urbanism that respects the environmental issues and a construction process based on principles of sustainability.
