Intended learning outcomes

The students that are approved in this curricular unit should be able to:

  1. Identify and use general concepts and fundamentals on graph theory;
  2. Understand and solve classical problems on networks and flows, in particular in communication networks;
  3. Represent networks and compute the distance statistics and clustering coefficient of a network;
  4. Analyze the network centrality;
  5. Characterize random networks: classical (Erdös-Rényi), small world (Watts-Strogatz) and scale-free (Barabasi- Albert);
  6. Apply the concepts learned in this unit to analyze social networks.
