José Alberto Rodrigues holds a PhD in Mathematics by the University of Minho and is Coordinator Professor at Department of Mathematics of the Engineering Institute of Lisbon (ISEL, IPL). His main area of interest is applied mathematics and scientific computing.

He has publications devoted to mathematical modelling and numerical methods, more specifically in Isogeometric Analysis techniques, and didactic books devoted to Calculus and Numerical Analysis for undergraduate students.

He is a staff member of the Research Centre on Modelling and Optimization of Multifunctional Systems (CIMOSM, ISEL, http://cimosm.isel.pt/)
